It all began when me (Andréas) and Palle first met over a game of soccer among friends in -94 and musical love at first conversation occurred. We hit it off immediately with a project called Empire, with me on vocals and Palle on everything else.
We used a drum machine on that one, and to make a long story short, formed a band and tried out at least 10 different drummers before we found Jimmie who was only 17 years old, thin and very shy back then. Nowadays, he’s not that thin and definitely not shy
at all.. -Boy I miss those days.. Ha ha…
Also worth mentioning is that the lifelong corporation with our dear friend and ”fourth member” Thomas Karlsson (Carlsro Studio) started with that first recording.
But the band who played progressive metal didn’t last for long.
A good friend of ours (Thomas Karlsson by the way..) offered Palle a part-time job as a guitarist in a sleazy cover band, but at least he got paid..
And it didn’t take long until both me and Jimmie joined as well. Many, many gigs and unspeakable memories later Palle quit the band and decided to move to London and become a rockstar. Just a few months later I moved over to him in London as well. But as always, things never turns out the way you think....... We played in a band, had a brilliant time and we made friends for life but rock was totally dead. So we moved back to the westcoast of Sweden, called Jimmie up and FUELHEAD was born.........
We started out in the summer of -99 with the intention to deliver the heaviest, low-tuned cool groovy riffs you can think of, combined with memorable melodic vocals and great choruses! Period!
Plugged Records showed their interest already back in 2001 but it wasn’t until late 2003 that we signed the record-deal with Plugged Records sublabel Plug Or Die when things really started to happen!!
